SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN OF WESTBORO The meeting was called to order on Thursday, June 6, 2013 by Chair Ed Schlosser at 1:30 p.m. Present were supervisors Rocky Jones & John Pipkorn, Road & Maintenance Director Jeff Peterson, and U.S. Forest Service Primary Contact Dave Campbell (left meeting at 3:30 p.m.). Campbell will send maps with road names and forestry number on them. He talked about the forestry agreement and that jurisdiction of forestry roads has never been established. If logging is to be done on roads, we need to plan ahead and work with town to fix up road. There are not many culverts available this year. They will supply on a must have basis off of list that was given to him today. Forest Service will send a letter to the town informing why they cannot provide culverts and/or gravel. Campbell talked about the gravel and he will check with his supervisor to see what they can do. Discussed crushing in their pits and what options are. Ditching can be done in forest, but they have no funds available and the policy about throwing back still stands - - must be dug out and hauled away. They may have sites available to dump fill. Campbell will inform us when we can use Forest Service’s disk and pulverizer to pull in shoulders. He will call with minimum horsepower that is needed. Campbell questioned about our ATV/UTV ordinance and would like a copy when adopted. Discussion was held on what was due the town for gravel from the Forestry Log Landing Pit. Campbell took copies of previous annual meeting figures and Jeff will send him copies of his notes and figures on gravel from past years. Bridge inspections were discussed with Campbell. Reports will be sent to Jeff for bridges inspected in 2010; only one with weight restrictions is in Chelsea. Board discussed the grass mowing on town roads and will take action on this at their June 14th meeting. Brief discussion about the paperwork received on the Business Highway 13 bridge project from Ernie Peterson of K Johnson Engineers and the telephone conversation with Dave Pantzlaff of Ayres Associates.
