Town Board Minutes – July 28, 2011

SPECIAL WESTBORO TOWN BOARDThe meeting was called to order on July 28, 2011 at 6:05 p.m. by Chair Tim Roiger. Present weresupervisors Steve Peterson & Eldred Gumz, Clerk Julie Scott, Treasurer Denise Johnson, and Road &Maintenance Director Jeff Peterson. Also present were Terry Stahnke of Decker Lumber & Supply,Chuck Kornack of C&M Sales & Service, Gene Lucia, Roland LaBrec, Harry Stroik, and RosemaryRindt.Discuss and act on asphalt paving around the Community Center.American Asphalt submitted an estimate of $7,992 to include the stipulation that the work be done mid-August. S. Peterson/ Gumz motioned to approve, motion carried.Discuss and act on building remodeling issues.a. Heating Vents. Vents were cut into the new tongue & groove wall. The Town Board and otherresidents that viewed this are not satisfied with the outcome. Following a lengthy discussion,Roiger/S. Peterson motioned to leave the vents in the same place but change from metal towooden grilles to be more attractive. Soundproofing material will be placed in the spaces. Motioncarried.b. It was decided to install snow jacks above the door awnings.c. Discussion occurred on the possible construction of a monument to include the old school bell.Location to be in front of building along with flag poles. Costs are to be investigated beforedecision is made.d. Scratches are in the new basement floor tiles. Stahnke is aware of this and will repair.e. S. Peterson/Roiger motioned to replace all old registers with new ones at a cost of $75 each,totaling $900 materials/labor. Motion carried. This is a change order. Kornack will get samplesof the register covers.f. Plywood needed during roof replacement priced at $1,776 (37 sheets).g. Rest of library checkout counter here August 4th. Elevator inspection, August 3rd. Carpet arrivesAugust 1st & 2nd. Handrails middle of next week.h. Terry reported that cedar trees on north side of building were damaged will seal and wrap them.Will also check seal on outside doors.i. Waviness in window glass will be repaired.j. Sump pump was wired wrong by ITT; Martin Wiese will be submitting a quote for installing thesump pump.k. Question on what agreement can be reached with Decker on tiling stairs to Jeff’s office anddownstairs storage room. Also cost of doors in basement, with town agreeing to install.S.
