Town of Drammen Board Meeting Minutes August 10th, 2026 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jeff Larson at 7:05 p.m. with all board members present except for Supervisor 1 who arrived at 7:20 p.m. Town residents Greg Lampman, Garg Gritzmaker, Troy Schulner, and Pat Olin were also in attendance. Maint. Building and Recycling Memorial Sign Proposal (Pat Olin) Town member Pat Olin volunteered to replace the town sign on the entrance fence and proposed adding memorials to Ernie Werlein for the maintenance building and Terry Glanzman for the recycling center. The board reviewed a sample sign and requested additional time for discussion before making a final decision. The Chairman will contact the spouses to confirm they have no concerns with the proposal. Will add to next meeting agenda. Bulk Garbage Collection Proposal (Troy Schulner) Town member Troy Schulner proposed providing the town, at no cost and on a trial basis, with a large roll-off container for bulk disposal. The service will begin on the first Saturday in September (September 5) and will be staffed by Schulner or an employee, so it does not interfere with the town’s regular garbage collection operations. Item prices will be set by the attendant on a case-by-case basis. The clerk volunteered to create flyers and update the town’s Facebook page to advertise the event, and the board agreed. Motion to approve July’s Treasurer’s Report with one correction for a minor typographical error was made by Joe Becker and seconded by Mike Isaacson. Motion carried. Monthly Bills The monthly bills were reviewed. Mike Isaacson made a motion to approve the monthly bills, which was seconded by Joe Becker. Motion carried. Monthly Budget Review The town board conducted a review of the current budget with no comments. Road Repairs The Chairman reported that the Scenic Road culvert replacement was complete and the old culvert had been removed. After heavy rain, it was noted that the granite chips placed over the damaged road surface did not provide adequate drainage, so the town roadman will apply cold mix to secure the area. Scheduled road repairs already authorized for this year should be completed in late August, early September. Town Roadman Annual Evaluation Paperwork The Clerk reviewed updates to the evaluation paperwork, and the board approved the final form. Following discussion, the board agreed that all three supervisors would complete the review forms before the next meeting, then meet in closed session to discuss them at the end of the next town board meeting. Old Plow Truck Status The Clerk reported that the Facebook Marketplace listing has received a few inquiries, but the lack of a sander may be limiting buyer interest. The board discussed adding the old sander as an optional item if it would help with the sale. The board decided to keep the Facebook Marketplace ad active. WTA Fall Workshops The Clerk presented the WTA Fall Workshops schedule. The board discussed the workshops and agreed to review schedules before deciding at the next meeting whether to commit. Chairman, Supervisor, Clerk Updates The Chairman discussed whether mowing the church cemetery falls within the town roadman’s regular duties or should receive separate compensation. The board agreed that because the cemetery belongs to the Town of Drammen, its maintenance is part of regular town duties, and no additional compensation is warranted. Supervisor 2 updated the board on the WTA TAC meeting he attended, including discussions on annexation, levy limits, and data centers. He reported that the information was useful but does not currently affect the town. The Treasurer reported that UWEC archivists removed nearly half of the town’s historical records for restoration and digitization. While the remaining documents were being organized and stored, the shelves gave way and broke after a few days. The Clerk requested approval to purchase an industrial book rack for the office to properly store the remaining records, and the board agreed. The Clerk reported on various administrative items that did not require action by the board. Public Input None Motion to adjourn at 8:21 p.m. was made by Joe Becker and seconded by Mike Isaacson.
