Following deliberation, members agreed to place the truck along Highway 37 with a for sale sign and list it on Facebook Marketplace until the next scheduled meeting. If the truck is not sold for the predetermined minimum price, the board will determine further actions at the subsequent meeting. Chairman, Supervisor, Clerk Updates The Chairman addressed concerns regarding Locust, Hilly Crest, and Sunny Nook roads, which require the use of a mini excavator for remediation. Dick Bahr, an acquaintance of Tim Hoverson, possesses such equipment and has offered to lease it to the town at a discounted rate. The town maintenance worker will contact Mr. Bahr to negotiate terms and timelines, subject to board approval. The Chairman reported a cylinder leak on the tractor, noting that town resident Ron Books generously donated his time and materials to resolve the issue. Additionally, water in the fuel tank had impaired tractor performance; Alcivia was contacted and successfully removed approximately one gallon of water from the town’s diesel tank, resolving the problem. The Chairman discussed ongoing battery issues with the new plow truck, attributing them to the original batteries, which are nine years old and require replacement. Ascendance Trucking, the seller, has been contacted and agreed to supply three new batteries at cost. The Chairman noted a significant oil bleed from Walnut Road, which was chip sealed last year. Scotts Construction recommended conducting several sanding passes and advised continued monitoring for additional concerns.
