AGENDA PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MONDAY, JULY 13, 2026 8:00 AM 133 CRESCENT ST, MAZOMANIE, WI 53560 Please take note that there will be a public meeting of the above governmental body, on the date, time, and place indicated for purposes considering the subject matter set forth in the following agenda. The following agenda will be followed: (Discussion and possible action will take place on the following items) 1. Call meeting to order. 2. Roll call. 3. Additions or corrections/approval of the agenda 4. Citizen Comment on any subject not on the agenda 5. Approve minutes from April 27, 2026, Personnel Meeting 6. Move into Closed Session pursuant to Wis State Stats 19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility (Administrator) 7. Move into Open Session 8. Adjournment. This may also constitute a meeting of the Finance Committee and Village Board because: (i) the members of the Personnel Committee may constitute a majority of the members of the Finance Committee and Village Board; or (ii) it is expected that non- committee Village Board members may or will attend this committee meeting. As such, the Finance Committee and Village Board will not take any formal action at this meeting; and all such action shall be done by the Personnel Committee. Nevertheless, notice is given that a majority of the Village Board may be expected to attend the meeting to gather information which may include being included in the discussion or asking questions concerning matters over which they have decision making responsibilities. PLEASE NOTE: Any person who has a qualifying disability, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, that requires the meeting or materials at the meeting to be in an accessible location or format, must contact the Village Clerk at 608-795-2100, 133 Crescent St., Mazomanie, WI 53560, at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the meeting so that any necessary/reasonable arrangements can be made to accommodate each request. Dated: 07/07/2026 CJE Personnel Committee Meeting Minutes April 27, 2026 Members Present: Chair Dawn Forseth, Natalie Beil, and Justin Martinez Absent Member: N/A Attendance: Curt Erickson (Village Administrator ), Camden Parman (Fire Chief), Mike Keller (Lt. Fire Officer), Curtis Schmitt, Jim Schmitt, Janean Hill, Linda Weber, and Pete Peterson Meeting was called to order by Dawn Forseth at 4:15pm Motion by Beil, second by Martinez, to approve the agenda as posted. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Martinez, second by Forseth , to approve meeting minutes dated December 9 , 2025. Motion carried unanimously. Motion to move into closed session as permitted by Wis. State Stats. 19.85(1)(b) considering dismissal, demotion, licensing or discipline of any public employee or person licensed by a board or commission or the investigation of charges against such person, or considering the grant or denial of tenure for a university faculty member, and the taking of a formal action on any such matter (Volunteer Firefighter) was made by Beil and second by Martinez. Roll Call: Beil – Aye, Martinez – Aye, and Forseth – Aye at 4:16pm. Motion to move into open session was made by Beil, seconded by Martinez at 5:31pm. Motion carried unanimously. Discuss and act on the recommendation during Closed Session. The Committee discussed further guidance and information from legal counsel. A motion to postpone the recommendation until further consultant with the Village’s legal counsel was made by Beil, second by Forseth. Motion carried unanimously. Motion to move into closed session as permitted by Wis State Stats 19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility (Fire Chief) was made by Beil, seconded by Martinez. Motion carried unanimously. Roll Coll: Martinez-Aye, Beil-Aye and Forseth-Aye at 5:34pm. Motion to move into open session was made by Beil , seconded by Martinez at 5:48pm . Motion carried unanimously. Discuss and make a recommendation regarding the appointment of Fire Chief. A motion to conditional offer, based on the recommendation of the Fire Department’s interview panel, to appoint Dan Ma chotka as the Village’s Fire Chief pending approval from the Village Board was made by Martinez, seconded by Beil.
