VILLAGE PRESIDENT’S REPORT. Nothing
VILLAGE STAFF REPORTS:
VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT. Erickson’s administrator report was included in the packet, but he
wanted to discuss several items that were not included and had just recently occurred.
1. Developers Agreement. Curt reported that a signed developer’s agreement has been received for Lot
60 on Emily Road, where a four-unit building will be proposed. The contractor was advised to work
with Statz, Public Works Director, regarding utility connections. Walter Crossing received occupancy
approval for the five-unit building on Sunday, and residents have started to move in. It was also
discussed that a Plan Commission meeting will be scheduled with the Looyes regarding the progress of
the project. At a previous Plan Commission meeting, it was determined that both units must be
completed by the end of June 2026 to avoid full payment for the lot. Erickson further noted that, as the
Village continues working through additional developer’s agreements and with the a ddition of a
Village Planner and increased involvement from the Village Engineer, the current $7,500 developers’
agreement fee may be too low and should be considered for an increase.
2. Dane County Sheriff Deputy Vacancy. Erickson noted that interviews were conducted on Monday
with three candidates. Unfortunately, the Village of Mazomanie and the Village of Black Earth likely
will not see the individual on the schedule until January 2027, as the candidate must first complete a
six-month mini academy program, which is only offered twice per year.
3. Sewer Rates. Curt noted that he included Town & County Engineering’s Rate Study Summary which
broke down the rate steps in 3 steps. He thought about including at the next board meeting a summary
with adding 2 additional steps to the study into 4 or 5 steps to “lesson the blow” to the residents.
4. Annexation. Erickson gave the board an informational packet on the annexation process as the Village
may be pursuing annexation in the near future for the Dane Iowa Wastewater Facility water line
connection.
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR REPORT. Statz noted that his report was included in the packet and provided
additional discussion on each bullet point.
LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S REPORT. Beil noted that the report was included in the packet.
OLD BUSINESS (The following items will be discussed and may have action taken on them.) None
NEW BUSINESS (The following items will be discussed and may have action taken on them.)
a. Approve Resolution 2026-03 Transportation Resolution. Erickson noted that the League of
Wisconsin Municipalities emailed municipalities requesting support for a long-term, sustainable
funding solution for the State Transportation Fund through adoption of a Transportation
Resolution. He explained that the Village received approximately $101,000 in transportation
funding in 2021, compared to $86,800 that is expected in 2026. As funding levels continue to
decrease, approval of the resolution is being requested. Motion by Lindorfer, second by
Martinez to approve resolution 2026-03. Motion carried unanimously.
b. Update on the Village’s sidewalk café and retail use permit process. This agenda item was
informational only, and no motion is required. Ordinance 360 was included in the packet. The

Clerk/Treasurer, and that objects are prohibited on sidewalks from November 1 through April 1.
