VILLAGE BOARD M INUTES April 28 , 2026 Members: Chair : Natalie Beil ; Members: Rob Westerlund , Jim Marx, Justin Martinez, Karen Peterson, and Dawn Forseth , and Allison Lindorfer Members Absent: None Also Present : Curt Erickson (Village Administrator), Angie Volkman (Clerk/Treasurer), Cam Parman (Fire Chief), Janean Hill, Linda Weber, Peter Peterson, and Charlie Lindorfer The meeting was called to order at 4 :00 b y Village President, Natalie Beil. M otion by Martinez , s econd by Forseth to approve the agenda as posted . Motion carried unanimously. M otion by Forseth , second by Peterson to approve the minutes dated April 14 , 2026, M otion carried unanimously. Citizen Comment: None Allison Lindorfer, Jim Marx, and Rob Westerlund were sworn in as Village Trustees following the Spring Election VILLAGE PRESIDENT ’S REPORT Discuss and act on Committee Assignments Beil discussed the Committee assignment list and identified vacancies on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Visionary Alliance Committees. Erickson provided a quick overview of each Committee and included the frequency of meetings. Motion to approve the Committee Assignments as presented was made by Martinez, seconded by Forseth. Motion carried unanimously. Beil also discussed expectations of attendance at Village Board meetings and Committee meetings, discussed onboarding with each trustee to include tours of Village facilities, and communicating agenda items to the Village Office the week prior to a meeting. VILLAGE STAFF REPORTS: VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR ’S REPORT Erickson reviewed his written report which included the ordinance amendments on the agenda, upgrading Village staff technology, planning projects, and staff updates. Old Business (The following items may have action taken) None NEW BUSINESS (The following items may have action taken) Discuss and act on the recommendation from the Public Protection & Ordinance to adopt Ordinance 2026-01 an ordinance to repeal and recreate Chapter 355 Subsection 18 relating to the Recycling Program. Motion by Martinez, seconded by Peterson to approve Ordinance 2026-01. Motion carried unanimously. Discuss and act on the recommendation from the Public Protection & Ordinance Committee to amend Chapter 355 Subsection 16 relating to Brush Collection. Motion by Martinez, seconded by Forseth to amend Chapter 355-16. Motion carried unanimously. Motion to move into Closed Session pursuant to Wis. State Stats 19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility (Fire Chief) was made by Martinez, seconded by Peterson at 4:25pm. Roll Call Vote: Beil – aye, Forseth – aye, Martinez – aye, Peterson – aye, Westerlund – aye, Marx – aye, Lindorfer – aye. Motion to move into Open Session was made by Martinez, seconded by Forseth at 4:48pm. Motion carried unanimously. Discuss and act on the appointment of Fire Chief. A motion to approve the recommendation of the Fire Department ’s interview panel and Personnel Committee to appoint the Fire Chief was made by Marx, seconded by Martinez. Further discussion regarding transparency and identifying the Fire Chief in the motion occurred. Marx amended the motion to include Dan Ma chotka as the Fire Chief; Martinez seconded the amended motion. Motion carried unanimously. Announcements Motion by Marx , second by Martinez to adjourn .
