Parks and Recreation Director Kane Browskowski presented an overview of aquatic facilities staff wages throughout Dane and other surrounding counties. The information provided highlighted that Cross Plains Pool staff are at the low end of pay within the area. The goal of increasing pay is to retain more staff year after year at the facility and be competitive within the area. Committee Member Knutowski made a motion to increase Cross Plains Pool wages for Basketroom to $10.00, Lifeguard/ Swim Instructor to $15.00, Assistant Manager to $18.00, and Manger to $20.00 with each year of service .50/hour increase per respective position. Staff years of service will be applied. Motion unanimously carried. 3. Discussion Regarding Recreation Software Portal, Updates, and Needs. Parks and Recreation Director Kane Browskowski discussed the department is looking into new enrollment software with MyRec and RecDesk . Sportsman software is dated and not user friendly for staff or customer base. Each portal has more features that can benefit the department, but there will be an additional cost to the Village for the portal. Board members addressed how current portal is a challenge for newer users, is tough to navigate, and is difficult to use from phone. 4. Discussion Regarding a Refund Policy for Aquatic & Recreation programming. Parks and Recreation Director Kane Browskowski discussed that with new software and dynamics in Village we should consider a type of refund policy. The committee viewed an example from Sun Prairie. There were positives related to how this could help fund a scholarship option. There were some concerns about how it is beneficial that community members can withdraw from activities when summers get busy unlike other recreation departments. There were also concerns about having “credits ” be given towards end of year without possibility of using. The committee will be considering and looking into what other recreation departments have in policy. 5. Discussion Regarding Fall 2027 Online Recreation Activity Guide. The upcoming Fall Activity Guide is currently in process with staff. The committee reviewed the previous 2025 activity guide. Discussion was held regarding how it could be improved with spacing, information, and possible programing. 6. Discussion Regarding Parks, Open Spaces, and Trail Signage Guidelines. Parks and Recreation Director Kane Browskowski discussed and presented signage template documents from 2023 and shared conversations from the company that submitted quotes on the signage. Vital Signs mentioned that they had concerns about doing the work because of the small lettering and design. They suggested we revisit the design. During the committee discussion, Tim Hillebrand discussed the previous sign discussions and his donation that was made. The committee would like to see possible new artwork for the signs. V.
