TOWN OF YORK, DANE COUNTY MINUTES - APRIL 8, 2024 The regular monthly meeting of the Town of York was called to order by Chairman Helwig at 6 pm. Those present were Chairman Helwig, Supervisor Auchtung, Supervisor Derr and Linda Henning, Clerk/Treasurer. Posting of the agenda and meeting notice was verified by the Clerk/Treasurer. Public Input: Jeff Price and Jessica Lane were inquiring about uses for their land. Approval of the agenda. Motion by Supervisor Derr with a second from Supervisor Auchtung to approve of the agenda as presented. Agenda approved with all present in favor. Minutes of March 11, 2024. Motion by Supervisor Derr with a second from Supervisor Auchtung to approve of the minutes of March 11, 2024. Minutes approved with all present in favor. Clerk’s Report: There were 190 people who cast their vote in the Spring election. Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Supervisor Auchtung with a second from Supervisor Derr to approve of the Treasurer’s report as presented. Treasurer’s report approved with all present in favor. Motion by Supervisor Derr with a second from Supervisor Auchtung to approve for payment checks #9160 thru #9178. Motion approved with all present in order. Road maintenance bids were opened. Fahrner bid $76,950.00 to chip seal with an emulsion oil for $7,432.00 and $73,432.00 with a non emulsion oil. This was for the Muller Road project. Scott Construction bid $67,700.00 using ⅜ Portage ash for the same project. Motion by Supervisor Derr with a second from Supervisor Auchtung to award the project to Scott Construction. Bids for the project on Krause Road/County Hwy V to the entrance to the Race Track; Thunder Road bid $16,000.00 for the project and Fahrner bid $11,788.00 for this project. Chairman Helwig will get more information regarding this project. Marshall Fire and Columbus Fire/EMS. Chairman Helwig reviewed the status of the vehicles that the departments need to replace. Town of York Board Meeting Minutes - April 8, 2024 Page 1 Chairman’s Report: Road inspections will start at 9 am. The next meeting is Monday, May 13, 2024. The Rural Fire Group will have their annual meeting at the Columbus Fire Station on April 27th, 2024 at 7 pm. There was no further business on the agenda, so on a motion from Supervisor Derr with a second from Supervisor Auchtung to adjourn the meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 7:15 pm.
