TOWN OF YORK, DANE COUNTY Minutes – February 14, 2023 The monthly York Town Board meeting was called to order on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 7:35 pm by Chairman Allen Wolfe at the York Town Hall. Present were Chairman Allen Wolfe and Supervisor Dean Helwig. Also present were Dan & Tina Kleven, David Auchtung, Ali Simyab, Dean Zubke as well as Clerk/Treasurer, Linda Henning. Public Input: There was none. Verify Posting of Agenda – The Clerk verified the agenda had been posted at the Town Hall, Marshall Post Office and the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Marshall. Approval of Agenda – Motion by Supervisor Helwig with a second from Chairman Wolfe to approve of the agenda as posted. Agenda approved as posted with all present in favor. Minutes of January 10, 2023 – Motion by Supervisor Helwig with a second from Chairman Wolfe to approve of the minutes of January 10th, 2023. Minutes of January 10, 2023 approved with all present in favor. Clerk’s Report: The Clerk requested to purchase a phone for the Clerk’s Office, so the public had access to the Clerk’s Office. The board agreed that this would be beneficial. Treasurer’s Report – Motion by Chairman Wolfe with a second from Supervisor Helwig to table the treasurer’s report until next month. Motion by Supervisor Helwig with a second from Chairman Wolfe to pay paychecks as presented. Motion approved with all present in favor. Bills to be paid for February will also be tabled. New Business/Reports: Patrolman’s Report – Dan presented a written report of activities he had worked on since the last meeting. The list is attached. Marshall Fire & EMS/Columbus Fire – Marshall Fire Dept representatives were present to answer any questions that the Board might have regarding the purchase and financing of a new engine. Columbus Rural Fire has new recruits that work on the weekdays. This has been very beneficial. Chairman’s Report – ________ Lewke would like to put in longer culverts for better field access. Dean Helwig will attend the District meeting on March 11th in Wisconsin Dells. Supervisor Helwig will also be out of town from April 11th to April 21st. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
