Town of Vienna Board Minutes Tuesday September 8, 2026 The regular town board meeting was called to order on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 7:00PM by Chair Jerry Marx. Supervisors Gary Endres, Sherri Meinholz, Jenny Sweatt, and Treasurer Lori Breiwa were present. Also present were residents Nancy Caldwell and Tim Hoege. Supervisor Amanda Nickel was excused. Pledge of Allegiance was recited Public Comment: Tim Hoege is here in regard to the previous topic of hiring a constable/deputy for enforcement of ordinances. Lori explained that this isn’t on the agenda today as Kathy was going to be out of town. However, we need to look into what our options are for being a part of a municipal court. That is required to be able to have someone write tickets for ordinance enforcement. Lori is going to contact the Village of Dane to see what they pay monthly for their part of municipal court. Approve or amend the minutes of the August 17, 2026, town board meeting: MOTION (Endres, Meinholz); motion carried by roll call vote of (4-0) to approve the minutes of the August 17th town board meeting as presented. Discussion and possible action on Bank Proposals for Town Funds – Town Treasurer Breiwa explained that two different banks (One Community Bank and Lake Ridge Bank, both of Waunakee) have approached us wanting to give proposals for being our banking provider. She has been happy with the service from our current bank, D MB, but wanted to give the board members the information that the other two banks provided. Breiwa also explained to the board that she spoke with our auditor, Johnson Block, about the possibility of combining a few of the savings accounts into a “pooled” account so that there would not be so many accounts to reconcile on a monthly basis. JB agre ed that this is a good time to do that, and that the accounting software will take care of knowing what balance is designated for each purpose. The utility accounts, cemetery fund and developers accounts would still all remain separate. The board members reviewed the proposals along with what we are currently receiving from DMB. Discussion was held. MOTION (Endres, Sweatt); motion carried by roll call vote of (4-0) to approve moving all town funds to Lake Ridge Bank from DMB bank and combining some of the savings accounts into one as discussed. Operator’s License – none Treasurer’s Report: Breiwa provides a month-to-month report of all bank accounts. Discussion was held on possibly paying down the Oak Lane loan. Breiwa suggested waiting until next month after we pay for our current road project and fire district billings. We will then have a more accurate look at what our balances are. Town Supervisor Reports: Supervisor Sweatt said that the Waunakee EMS meeting is this coming Thursday. Supervisor Meinholz stated that there was nothing new to report on the Dane-Vienna Fire board meeting. Supervisor Endres spoke about the Waunakee Fire District and that Westport and Waunakee are still in talks about forming the new Fire District. They are getting valuations on assets acquired.
