Vienna Tourism — Minutes

Vienna Tourism Commission Minutes Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 10:00am Town Hall of Vienna I. Call to Order: Jenny Olesen called the meeting to order at 10:10am. Members present: Jenny Olesen, Heike Compe, Amanda Nickel and Kathy Clark. Karl Anderson was excused. Note: Resident Dave Lynch asked to speak on Tourism Opportunities. Olesen moved to agenda item VI. Other Business for discussion. II. Approval minutes: Motion by Olesen, to approve July minutes, seconded by Compe. All in favor. Motion carried. III. Approval of financials: Motion by Clark to approve July financials, seconded by Compe. All in favor. Motion carried. IV. New Business: A. New Hire Administrative Position: Amanda Nickel met with Tourism members prior to meeting. Motion by Clark to hire Amanda Nickel as Vienna Tourism Administrator, seconded by Compe. All in favor. Motion carried. B. Waunakee Gun Club Request for Promotional Expenses: Motion by Clark to approve $1,000 for the AFS State Championship, Sept. 20-21st, seconded by Compe. All in favor. Motion carried. C. Ehlenbach Request for Sissy Improvement Funds: Tabled to September meeting. D. Town of Vienna Business Window logos: In-progress, waiting on Market Media for creative logo. E. Date and Time of future meetings: Tabled to September meeting. V. Old Business: A. Discover Wisconsin 2026 Episode- Film crew attended the August 2nd, Outstanding in the Field, at J. Henry and Sons for the 2026 episode. B. Madison Media Updates: Working on exit 126 information and promotions. C. Town of Vienna Updates: Public Hearing scheduled September 29th for Draft Comprehensive Plan D. Chamber of Commerce Updates: Compe is stepping down due to retirement. VI. Any other business to come before the Vienna Tourism Commission: Dave Lynch spoke about designating a bike route, birdwatching and the Dane County Pothole area. VII. Adjourn: Motion to adjourn by Clark to end meeting at 11:09am, second by Compe. Motion carried.
