Draft Minutes
March 3rd Public Hearing – for the purpose of receiving comments on proposed
updates to the Town of Verona Comprehensive Plan
A. Geller opened the public hearing at 6:35 pm.
Robert Blasdal, 7607 Riverside Rd, regarding proposed Area A, would
prefer no residential housing in this area and it be preserved by
restricting development of valuable farmland.
Shari Blasdal, 7607 Riverside Rd, against the development of the 76
acres. There will be increased traffic and development will decrease
their property value. This is the 5
th development in this area.
Curt Wedig, 116 Valley View Rd, Mt Horeb. Poast family had the
opportunity to purchase this land but it didn’t work out. Topsoil in this
area is only 6 – 12 inches of soil – not good farmland. He will continue
to farm this land until it is developed. More development will spread
the tax burden among the residents. Revenue from taxes will help with
upkeep of the roads. He plans on residing in this development. He
would like the board and plan commission to consider the 2 – 4 acres
request.
B. Geller closed the public hearing at 6:52 pm.
