Stat. § 60.80, the Town of Springfield, Dane County, Wisconsin, hereby posts notice that at its regular Town Board Meeting held on May 20, 2025, the Town Board enacted Ordinance #2025-01: An Amendment to the Town Cemetery Ordinance Requiring 10-year Residence. SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE: Section 10.05(2)(a) PURCHASE OF LOTS IN TOWN CEMETERY is amended to read: (2) Sales of lots. (a) Lots and burials/internments in Springfield municipal cemeteries are exclusively for purchase and use by current or former Springfield residents who resided in Springfield for 10 or more years. Residents and/or former residents, or their authorized agents, desiring to purchase a lot in any town cemetery for burial are referred to the town board, town clerk, or sexton. The town board, town clerk, or sexton shall have available suitable plats showing size and price of lots, and any other information that may be required, and render assistance to those desiring to make lot purchases.
