Town of Rutland Planning Commission Meeting-MINUTES 785 Center Rd. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 – 6:30 p.m. This meeting will be held via zoom and in person at the Rutland Town Hall Planning Commission meeting Agenda: 1. Call meeting to order. PC Chair Huycke called meeting to order at 6:30 pm 2. Roll Call PC members Josh Cooper, Bill Boerigter, Derek Nedveck, Jim Huycke and alternate PC member Michelle Perz were present. Kent Knutson was absent. Dawn George, Amanda Bartlett and Kim Sime were also present. Others in attendance: Christine Zeltner 3. Approval of the August meeting minutes. Cooper motioned at approve. Second by Boerigter. MP 4-0 4 Discuss and recommend changes to the CUP procedures Nedveck cleaned up the document with some reformatting. The CUP procedures document had been previously approved by the Town Board. But PC members feel the final document with reformatting should be approved by Town Board. Nedveck motion to recommend Town Board approve the newly formatted document on CUP procedures. Second by Boerigter. MP 4-0 5. Discussion on creating an event permit. Perz is still gathering information on area municipalities and what they have for event permits. She will present more at the October meeting. Main issue is to clarify the definition of Event on the permit application. No Action Taken 6. Discussion on adopting a dark sky ordinance Boerigter has formed a committee to work on this ordinance. Members are Boerigter, Peter Vanderveer, Gail Simpson and Ari Georiades. Christine Zeltner appeared and shared information on other Dark Sky ordinances. The committee will work with Zeltner and hope to have more info to present at the October or November PC meeting. No Action Taken 7. Set meeting date. Monday October 6 @ 6:30pm, Monday November 3 @ 6:30pm and Monday December 1@ 6:30pm 8. Adjournment. Nedveck motioned to adjourn. Second by Perz. MP 4-0 Respectfully Submitted by Kim Sime
