SPECIAL KETTLE MORAINE FIRE BOARD MEETING MINUTES Approved June 4, 2026 Call to Order: President D. Miresse called the meeting to order at 6:30pm on June 4, 2026, at the North Prairie Municipal Building at 130 N. Harrison St, North Prairie, WI. Roll Call: J. Davis, A. Shird, R. Spurrell, C. Wood, and D. Miresse were all present. C. Mommaerts and G. Planning were both excused. Pledge of Allegiance: D. Miresse led the Pledge of Allegiance. Citizen comments/concerns: None Discussion/action regarding Interim Fire Chief Appointment/Duties: The board discussed options for appointing an Interim Fire Chief. R. Spurrell thinks regarding moving forward there are two options. The first is a long-term solution by hiring a permanent chief. Second is we either appoint someone as Interim Chief or if we don’t appoint anyone then the Assistant Chief would step in as Interim Chief since he is the next highest-ranking officer. Motion by J. Davis that they recommend to the Fire Commission that we will follow the hierarchy of command and to have the Assistant Chief be the Interim Chief and followed by the Deputy Chief to the Assistant Chief. Motion seconded by R. Spurrell. No further discussion. All in favor. Motion carried. Motion to Adjourn: Motion by C. Wood to adjourn. Motion seconded by J. Davis. All in favor. Motion carried. D. Miresse adjourned the meeting at 6:47pm.
