MEETING MINUTES FOR TOWN OF MEDINA BOARD of Supervisors Meeting Wednesday October 14th, 2026, Monthly Meeting Minutes The monthly meeting for the Town of Medina Board of Supervisors was called to order by Supervisor Steven Nampel at 6:01 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Present were Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite, Supervisor Sue Zingshiem, and Supervisor Steven Nampel Also present Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Lulling, Highway patrolman Randy Krause, Andrew Kirch (left at 6:30 pm.), Doug Lutz, Michael Wedeward and daughter ( left at 6:27 pm), Anthony Lawson (left at 6:25 p.m.)-Chairman Todd Weinberger and Supervisor John Hellenbrand were both absent Meeting Posted: Monday October 12th, 2026; Town Hall, Whisper’s Roadhouse, Barrel Inn, and Townofmedina.wi.gov Public Appearances: None currently. Correspondence for the Board: None currently. Approve the meeting minutes from September 9th, 2026, meeting: Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve September 9th, 2026, meeting minutes, motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem. Motion passed 3/0. Road Grants and Updates- Lukasz Lywza: Lukasz unable to attend the meeting and no updates. Vacating Roads: Andrew Kirch wondering if he can put a gate across 4925 Oak Park Road (possibly named Ferris Road- Town of Medina road) or vacate the road entirely. Andrew Kirch would prefer to have the road vacated. Supervisor Sue Zingshiem advised that to vacate the road would have to have a legal description of the road, public hearing and a resolution for the roadway. Tabled until next month. Motion was made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to begin the process of vacating Ferris Road; Motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem. If the process is too much or cannot be done by public hearing that will be discussed. Motion passed 3/0. MFD SCBA/Cascade Quote Approval: Estimate for the total system is $61,174.77- however- with the Surplus Brush Truck sales -$10,095.24, Capital Account access- $8570.46 and the MAEMS ambulance sale-$8000.00.Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve the MFD SCBA/Cascade quote from Macqueen for $61,174.77, Motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem. Motion passed 3/0. Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve the use of funds from the sale of the brush truck, capital account access and ambulance sales to lower the quote to $34509.07, Motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem. Motion passed 3/0. Wedeward Driveway Permit Application Approval: The Planning Commission approved the driveway permit at their September meeting. Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve the Wedeward Driveway Permit Application on Waterloo Road , Motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem. Motion passed 3/0. Dane County Procedural Clean-up of 2019 Medina Zone Changes: Dane County looking at some parcels in the Town of Medina that need to be cleaned up (language wise). Dane County wanted clarification on parcels with or without the right of way- acreage excluding the town right of way. Dane County will take care of the changes. Nothing needs to be done by the Town of Medina or property owners. Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve Dane County’s Procedural Clean Up of 2019 Medina Zoning Changes. Motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem. Motion passed 3/0. Preliminary Budget Discussion: Tabled until next month. Baumann Operators License Approval: Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve the Baumann Operators License, Motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem Motion passed 3/0. Wulf Operators License Approval: Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve the Wulf Operators License, Motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zinghsiem. Motion passed 3/0. Approve monthly financial information: Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve the monthly checks; Motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem. Motion passed 3/0. Highway Report: Updates given by Highway Patrolman Randy Krause. Ditch mowing, pothole filling, fixed some signs, Raygen Road has mud coming up so will need to be dug up EMS and Fire Commission Reports: Tabled until next month. Clerk/Treasurer Report: Updates given by Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Lulling. Frontier land line cancelled, Box Elder loan extension paperwork to Bank of Deerfield, LRIP request for reimbursement dated and submitted, absentee ballots sent out and being logged as they return, Municipal Levy Limit Worksheet Completed Future Meeting Information: Budget, vacating Ferris Road, Trek Trails approval Adjournment: Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to adjourn at 6:48p.m. Meeting adjourned.
