DRAFT 634 State Road 19 PO Box 37, Marshall, WI 53559 www.townofmedina.org 1 MEETING MINUTES FOR TOWN OF MEDINA BOARD of Supervisors Meeting Wednesday April 9th, 2025 Monthly Meeting Minutes The monthly meeting for the Town of Medina Board of Supervisors was called to order by Supervisor John Ward at 6:00pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Present were Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite, Supervisor John Ward, Supervisor Sue Zingshiem and Supervisor John Hellenbrand. Also present: Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Lulling, Rochelle Chadwick, Steve Nampel, Kim Kohler, Jeremy Laufenberg arrived after the meeting had adjourned. Town Board Meeting Posted: Monday March 10th, 2025; Town Hall, Whisper’s Roadhouse, Barrel Inn, and Townofmedina.wi.gov Public Appearances: none currently. Correspondence for the Board: Kim Kohler gave the highlights from her email thanking the board for all their hard work. Approve the meeting minutes from March 12th, 2025, meeting: Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to approve March 12th, 2025, meeting minutes, motion was seconded by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem. Motion passed 4/0. Road Grants and Updates- Lukasz Lywza: Lukasz not able to attend. Trek Letter: Motion made by Supervisor John Hellenbrand to approve the endorsement letter for Trek, motion was seconded by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite. Motion passed 4/0. Letter sent via email to Mike Monger with the question from Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite about total usage of the roadway-specifically if someone pulls out from their driveway during a blocked section of the race. Marshall Fire Services Agreement: Tabled until the Town hears from the Town Attorney on the matter. Approve monthly checks: Motion made by Supervisor Sue Zingshiem to approve the monthly checks; Motion was seconded by Supervisor John Hellenbrand. Motion passed 4/0. Affirm Supervisor Sue Zingshiem to the Planning Commission: Motion made by Supervisor Phillip Braithwaite to affirm the appointment of Supervisor Sue Zingshiem to the Planning Commission, Motion was seconded by Supervisor John Hellenbrand. Motion passed 3/1. Supervisor Sue Zingsheim abstained. Boring under the roadway: Information received from Mr. Laufenberg and forwarded to Lukasz to review. They will be communicating with each other to come up with an agreement. Boom Mower loan out contract: The underwriter of the insurance company will be getting into contact FCC renewal contract: Renewal completed with no charges for municipalities. Highway Report: Updates given by Patrolman Randy Krause. Junebug road sign ordered, diggers hotline will need to be called for that and the hill blocks view sign for Van Holten’s, fence for the back of the dumpsters being looked into- $35 per 6 feet, tree trimming done, boom mowing on Langer Road, garbage located on Berlin Road from the same person and Dane County Sheriff’s Department notified, loader should be here any day, 50X100 cold storage shed estimate around $100,00 to $120,000-3 bids needed, road grading on Tower Line, Traut Road, Langer Road, ditching needs to be done on Cherry Lane and the end of Tower Line Road EMS and Fire Commission Reports: Updates given by Supervisor John Hellenbrand. EMS payout May 1st-leaving about $1,000 in the account for any expenses, electrical outlet done in the MFD bay, surplus kept in the PSB funds. April 16th will be an EMS meeting with Sun Prairie EMS. Clerk/Treasurer Report: Updates given by Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Lulling. Spring Election information completed and added to WisVote, updated tax-exempt status with NAPA, recycling grant completed, Invoice sent to Trek and money received, FCC licensing renewed, and information updated, ARPA declarations completed, New board member confirmation letter sent, new insurance website information loaded Future Meeting Information: Nothing currently.
