Supervisor Marshall opened up discussion on a Revised Draft Ordinance Restricting Certain Artificial Wake Enhancement stating that a request was made by some Lincoln residents to discuss the sending of the revised ordinance to the Department of Natural Resources for comment/review. Some Lincoln waterways are shared with the Town of Washington, the Washington town board was in attendance for the meeting. Chairman Egan indicated that the Town of Washington would not be moving forward with any ordinance at this time, the board feeling this is something that needs to be handled at a state level and it is pointless to pass an ordinance that can’t be enforced. Some present at the meeting were seriously concerned about the effects of enhanced wakes on shorelines, invasive species and wildlife. Others in attendance had just as much concern with high horsepower pontoons and wave runners, the lack of having adequate enforcement on the Chain of Lakes, and the need for more studies to be conducted. Chairman Hassey spoke of his desire to work together with neighboring municipalities and not being in favor of moving forward without the Town of Washington. Hassey also cited concern with the issue of enforcement. A motion was made by Marshall to send the Revised Draft Ordinance Restricting Certain Artificial Wake Enhancement to the DNR for review, motion failed due to lack of a second. The board approved the payment of bills, vouchers #17734 through #17760. Motion to adjourn made by Richter, seconded by Marshall, all in favor, motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:22 p.m. Shelly D. Sauvola Town Clerk/Treasurer
