Agenda:
Brian Brown was present to provide an update from the Garage Building Committee. Before the board
tonight was a change order to approve a power washer. Motion was made by Randy Francois to
approve the proposal change order in the amount of $ 2395. Seconded by Dan Palmer, Roger Hodel
approved.
Vince Laufenberg was present to provide an overview of the findings from the State Inspection last
Thursday. Most items cited by the inspector are relatively easy to resolve, such as the downspout
empties onto the sidewalk and needs to be relocated. The major finding to be addressed was the
insufficient head clearance at the top of the steel staircase that walks up to the mezzanine. The main
beams of the building goes overhead, and based on the height of that beam – the clearance is 11” short.
This clearance must be remedied. The Architect is looking at the applicable code and solutions, which
includes possibly relocating or removing the stairs, reclassifying the mezzanine, or modifying the
structure by adding a column and shortening the beam at that location. Vince Laufenberg has asked the
structural engineer to review. They will continue to find a solution. When this is remedied and the
exhaust system is functional, the inspector will be out to inspect again. In the meantime, there is an
issue of no occupancy.
Brian Brown noted on record that McKee Associates has been very good to work with and at
communicating with the committee.
Six truck proposal packets were reviewed by the Board. Hank Weiland was present from Lakeside
International to answer any questions regarding his proposal. The board discussed the town needs for a
truck, noting other town trucks are Burke and it may be good to be able to use other truck parts. They
discussed warranties, lead time and turn around, and generally reviewed the proposals, costs, and truck
specifications. The town patrolman and Randy Francois will continue to investigate truck options.
