He would like permission to place a fire danger sign in front of the Town Hall. He explained there are grants available from the DNR. The signs would require the DNR website to be checked daily and update the sign as needed. This sign could be a good eagle scout, 4-H, boy scout or girl scout project. Chief Ripp will look into this to see if there is any interest from any of these groups for this project. Chief Ripp stated the sign updates would need to be coordinated with the surrounding fire jurisdictions. The Board did not have a preference if the sign would be temporary or permanent. Chief Ripp will do more research and follow up with any information he finds out. No action taken. Discussion and possible action regarding the proposed Stoughton Senior Center agreement. Chair Green stated he spoke with the town’s attorney regarding the agreement. The town attorney wondered what services does the Senior Center provide for the annual donation of $9000.00? Chair Green stated the town attorney also recommended not signing the agreement at this time. Sup. Schuck stated the Senior Center would like a response by the end of July. The senior center director also offered to meet with Chair Green and any Board members regarding questions they may have. Discussion and possible action regarding the scope of services from Vandewalle & Associates Inc. for assistance with the towns comprehensive plan, for a starting base cost of $1800.00. It will most likely cost more than the base cost of $1800.00. It was mentioned the current data from the comprehensive plan is from 2017. They will need to get the updated 2026 data to add to the comp. plan as well. Motion by Supervisor Schuck, second by Sup. Miller, to accept the scope of services from Vandewalle & Associates, Inc. for assistance with the towns comprehensive plan for a base cost price of $1800.00. Motion carried 3-0. This will be on the next town board agenda for the third reading and adoption. Discussion and possible action regarding the quote from Strand Associates for the town hall parking lot reconstruction and paving with an opinion of an approximate amount of $280,238.40. The Board reviewed the detailed sheet with an approximate amount for costs associated with a new parking lot. Chair Green reported out the total is the amount if everything was hired out, noted that the first four to five items could be done by the Public Works employees. However, with the costs associated with this project, it cannot be done this year. This project will still need to bid out. No action taken. Discussion and possible action regarding signs in front of the town hall to advertise for the leaf pickup public meeting, to be held on July 28, and for the ad to be placed in the HUB. The Board reviewed the proposed banner advertising for this special meeting. Sup. Schuck stated she went to Duck Soup Signs for an estimate on a sign. We have not heard back from them as of tonight’s meeting. Inkworks can do the double-sided banner for about $138. A discussion was held on banners and costs associated with them. A discussion was also held on why the town was holding this meeting, and what will the outcome of this meeting be. Lake property owners can mulch their own leaves, collect them, bag them, and bring them to the yard waste site. There are some serious questions if the town approves a leaf district for the properties involved regarding adding this service to the tax bills, especially if the town does not provide the leaf collection service. Chair Green stated we need to figure out the most economical way to purchase the signs for this meeting. Further discussion was held. It was decided the meeting will still be held as scheduled. Motion by Supervisor Schuck, second by Sup. Miller, to go with the banners at staples for $48.00 each, with a friendly amendment by Chair Green, seconded by Sup. Schuck, for a cost not to exceed $110.00. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion of Public Works projects and duties. Chair Green reported out.
