can be kept cut.
XI. Board Discussion:
a. Culverts 6’-20’ Structures Report: Chairman Jerabek reviewed the results of the Culvert Report from Ayres Associates ;
Town of Lincoln was found to have only minimal issues with culverts so no immediate expenses expected.
b. Hawk Road Private Driveway Culvert: Discussion held on resident S. Alberts’s wish to widen and install a culvert at their own
cost, pending zoning/ storage container compliance, right-of-way permitting and possible rezoning.
c. Spruce Road Existing Woods Driveway: Discussion on resident T. Vincent’s request to add a load of gravel to ditch to improve
the existing driveway and help w/ drop-off.
d. Algoma Fire & Rescue Meetings: Chairman Jerabek reviewed outcome of the four meetings last month on funding of new
building: Towns offered a 10-year payoff with no interest $161,711.97 vs. paying off in 6 or 10 years at an increased payoff amount. The three
towns involved would have to approve; together they have a 50% vote. The Board feels Algoma has more equipment than they need and new
equipment they want to purchase does not have to paid by the Town of Lincoln per the current contract and the Town attorney. There have
been no fire calls in the Town of Lincoln in 2025. The County Highway Dept has put a weight limit on bad culverts, restricting Fire Dept water
trucks going over empty or loaded. If Algoma formed a fire district to include other municipalities, they could apply for grants to keep taxpayer
costs down.
e. Luxemburg Fire & Rescue Meetings: The Town of Lincoln counts as an equal vote to other municipalities. Because Luxemburg
Fire & Rescue includes other municipalities they are able to apply for grants and were able to get an award of $126,128 for radios from a State
80-20 grant. Luxemburg is looking at land for a new Fire & Rescue building. Sedron / DTE is still in need of training with Luxemburg Fire &
Rescue. KFI has given permission to fill fire trucks at their water tank which will free up one pumper truck.
f. Hawk Road Land Sale: C. Cochart dropped off check for $4,500 for RAC Properties, which is also paying closing costs.
g. Signs & Fire Numbers at Driveways: Lee Kinnard from KFI presented a current non-emergency problem of new fire numbers
confusing delivery drivers at thirteen delivery points. A request is for address and driveway numbers be allowed on 4’ x 4’ signs along with
building numbers. Kinnard also asked for recommendations on what would be needed to begin replacement of barn roof and construction of
40’ addition to barn. (CUP application should be submitted right away.)
XII. Business:
a. Culverts 6’-20’ Structures Report: No immediate action needed.
