him there will be no conflict.
4. Business Agenda Items
Item #1: City Attorney BPAC Overview
Assistant City Attorney Blake Herbison gave a presentation on the scope and role of BPAC, describing the policy,
purpose, and responsibility of BPAC acting as an advisory committee.
Item #2: Dewey St. Bridge Letter
Rinka began by pointing out that the response from City Engineer Leah Ness indicated Dewey St. Bridge will
indeed have a seven-foot bike lane along the east side of the bridge; this pleased the committee and there was no
further discussion.
Item #3: Water St. Trail Project Overview
Rinka gave a presentation on many ideas being considered for this project from the reconstruction of the trail to
additional features such as aesthetics, lighting, seating, lookouts, signage, vegetative plantings, and more. There
was a request by the committee to focus on making the area between Fifth & Third Streets into more of a
gathering space and to see if the budget would allow extending the project limits further to the west. There was
also a request to focus on native seeds and plants. Rinka informed the committee that he would bring the trail
design back for more comments and feedback from the committee when it’s further along in design.
Item #4: BPAC Awards Timeline
Zastoupil confirmed the timeline for the BPAC awards survey and voting ahead of the June Bike Week event.
5. Announcements and Future Topics:
