TOWN OF SEYMOUR 6500 TOWER DRIVE EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN 54703 (715)834-4999 OFFICE (715)834-3687 FAX BOARD OF REVIEW The meeting of the Seymour Board of Review was held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 10:00am at the Town Hall. Notice was posted at the Town Hall, Fire Station, Beaver Creek Reserve, and Town website (www.townofseymour.org) as well as posted in the Leader Telegram legals section. Board of Review members present were Jessica Janssen, Kerry Parker and Ken Schick. Amy Wagener served as the Clerk of the Board of Review. Assessor Alyssa Schultz was also present Jessica Janssen made a motion to appoint Kerry Parker to serve as Chair. Motion seconded by Kerry Parker. Motion carried. Kerry Parker made a motion to appoint Jessica Janssen to serve as Vice Chair. Jessica Janssen seconded the motion. Motion carried. Kerry Parker and Ken Schick have met the mandatory training requirements specified in Sec. 70.46 (4) Wisconsin Statutes. The clerk verified that the Town of Seymour has an ordinance in our Town Code Book of Ordinances, for the confidentiality of income and expense information provided to the assessor under state law (sec 70.47)(7)(af). There were no new laws enacted since the last Board of Review in 2022. The members of the Board of Review agreed to continue with the policy that telephone testimony will only be allowed for ill or disabled person who have presented a letter from a physician, surgeon or osteopath that confirms their illness or disability. No other persons may testify by telephone The members of the Board of Review also agreed that there will be no procedure set for waiving the requirement of the Board of Review hearings and that all objections must first be heard by the Board of Review. Alyssa Schultz, Assessor, signed the Affidavit along with the Clerk. The Assessment roll was examined by the Board. There were no changes made between the Open Book session and Board of Review. No objection forms were received. Having concluded the 2023 Board of Review for the Town of Seymour a motion to adjourn at 12:07pm was made by Jessica Janssen and seconded by Ken Schick. Motion carried. Minutes of the 2023 Board of Review were posted in three public places on May 26, 2023.
