PARK COMMISSION MINUTES MAY 8, 2024 Meeting called to order 9:38am Commission members in attendance: Fred Belay, Jennifer Meyer, Kathy Alf, Tom Roach, Barb Kleist, Dean Kallenbach and Tony Bischel Adopt agenda; motion made by Jennifer/sec Barb and passed Approval of April 3, 2024 minutes; motion made by Fred/sec Barb and passed Financial Report Total expenses paid in April $ 452.93 total year to date $ 1,904.73 Information from Town of Union Treasurer’s Report dated April 9, 2024 Visit EC Dest. & Dev. $ 21,298.83 check dated 2-27-24 for $ 3,123.53 not added by treasurer Nicolet non-profit checking $ 2,085.85 Work log hours to approve: Tom 8 hours @ $ 15 total $ 120 and Fred 8 hours @ $ 15 total $ 120 Fred - reimburse $ 31.85 for fuel Menards invoice# 71525 for $ 122.95 and Red Flint invoice# 161629 for $ 52.84 All above expenses are for Sherman Creek Park entrance improvements and improvements at the Conservancy trail head. Motion to approve above expenses made by Kathy/sec Jennifer and passed Invoice# 3900 for $ 642.50 from Drop Zone Septic for Jan-April rent and service; motion to approve made by Barb/sec Tom and approved Parks Discussion Tom and Fred have completed the entrance improvements at Sherman and trail head path at the Conservancy. It looks great. Eau Claire Outdoors may have their poetry event and fire building demonstration at the Conservancy as long as no fee or donation is required for participants; motion to approve made by Barb/ sec Jennifer and passed The pavilion reinforcement is complete. Jennifer will reach out to West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission for clarification on Eau Claire County’s bike trail plans. New Business The contract with Visit Eau Claire expires December 31, 2025. The Commission should review contract in the spring/summer of 2025.
