City of Menomonie Police and Fire Commission Meeting Minutes April 21, 2026 Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by President Ron Sandfort. Roll Call: Commissioners present were President Ron Sandfort, Robin Sweeny and Martha Stratton. Also present was Chief Dennis Klass. Commissioners Tom Miller and Dave Pellett were excused. Approval of Minutes from March 2, 2026 meeting, with the correction of President Ron Sandfort’s name being misspelled. Motion by Martha Stratton and seconded by Robin Sweeny to approve minutes. Motion Carried. Public Comments related to Agenda: There were none. Old Business: None New Business: Chief Klass updated the commissioners on staffing. Motion by Stratton and seconded by Sweeny to convene in closed session under Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Motion carried. Motion made by Sweeny and seconded by Stratton to reconvene in open session under Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(2). Motion carried. Open Session: Motion made by Sweeny Second by Stratton to direct the Chief to offer conditional employment to Seth Loberg and Noah Hughes. Steven Pfeiffer and Bennett Czeczok are to be put on an eligibility list for future consideration. Motion carried. Motion to adjourn was made at 11:33 by Sweeny and seconded by Stratton.
