PARK COMMISSION MINUTES MARCH 1, 2023 Meeting called to order 6:35pm Commission members in attendance: Fred Belay, Kathy Alf, Tom Roach, Barb Kleist, and Dean Kallenbach; guests Oscar Vlcek Adopt agenda; motion made by Dean/sec Kathy and passed Approval of February 8 minutes; motion made by Dean/sec Barb and passed Financial Report Barb verified with Town Clerk, invoice for $140 from TruLock in January was to troubleshoot camera system at Conservancy. Approval of prior payment motion made by Barb/sec Dean and passed No current invoices or work log to approve. Total expenses paid in February $ 2,037.98 YTD total $ 2,798.62 Members and Guests Oscar Vlcek presented his second draft map of the trails in Sherman Creek Park for his Eagle Scout Project. Recommendations: Header “Sherman Creek Park, un-named trails change to Link Paths, capitalize T on all trail names, capitalize E on elementary. Fred and Oscar will meet with Charlie to order signs; motion to approve made by Dean/sec Tom and passed Barb will forward email address of potential new park commission member and Fred will invite him to April meeting. Park Discussion Fred will invite Finley Odell and Jase Meyer to the April meeting to discuss the open maintenance positions at the Conservancy. Barb will contact the tree service hired last year, Doug Harshman, to drop and leave trees at the Conservancy. If Doug is available to do work a $3,000 budget is approved ; motion made by Dean/sec Barb and passed Cache box at Canyon Park will be removed and placed at the River Top Trail at the Conservancy when weather permits. People are having fires in areas where there is not a designated fire ring, Fred is ordering a sign. Fred will also order a sign for the garbage can.
