Old Business
Presentation by Bob Colson and Dennis Mack from Cedar Corp for updated Comprehensive Outdoor Plan, update to include a Family Sports Complex. The amendment is estimated to take 3-4 months. They do not expect a substantial amount of grant money available for this type of project. The question arises “How will funds be raised when grants will not fund much of the project.” Also, if potential land for the project is in the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) that will determine how it is developed and may not allow for this type of project. The Commission is requesting a proposal from Cedar Corp to amend the Outdoor Recreation Plan to include a Family Sports Complex: motion by Jennifer/sec Sarah and passed
Oscar Vlcek was present to discuss his ideas for an Eagle Project at Sherman Creek Park focusing on maps and trail improvements. Oscar is a member of Boy Scout Troop 30 and student at Memorial High School. The Commission is interested in his project, expected completion spring of 2024. He will get the Scoutmasters approval and begin developing a proposal for the project. After he has the proposal ready he will present it to the Commission: motion by Dean/sec Kathy and passed
Tom updated the Commission on the pavilion progress at the Conservancy. Tom has made contact with a contractor to get a price for the concrete worked needed.
