Approved- MEETING MINUTES Little Suamico Code of Ordinance Committee Meeting Little Suamico Town Hall, 5964-A County Road S, Sobieski, WI 54171 Tuesday May 20, 2025, 6:00 P.M. www.townoflittlesuamico.com Committee Members Present: John Link, Dave Daniels, John Kwiatkowski, Ed Galkowski, Ron Bertrand, Kory Rentmeester, Paula Leier-Engelhardt (alternate). Committee Members Absent: Branden Ness Others Present: Liz Paape, Beth Trudell CALL MEETING TO ORDER - Pledge of Allegiance, then meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Chairman Link at the Town Hall. The Committee meeting agenda notice was properly posted APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Kory Rentmeester motioned to accept the agenda and John Kwiatkowski second the motion. Passed unanimous vote. APPROVAL OF MINUTE(S) - Minutes of last meeting were read and Kory Rentmeester motioned to accept and John Kwiatkowski seconds the motion. Passed unanimous vote. CORRESPONDENCE – No comments have been received via e-mail from reviewers. There has been public comments on thanking the committee for our time in going over the ordinances. BUSINESS – 1. Town Complaints: • No new Town complaints as of this meeting • No Oconto County Sheriffs spreadsheet listed for this meeting. 2. Discussion of Ordinances by Committee Members: • Paula had questions on how it came to be the Town of Little Suamico had ordinances the Town Board thought we did not have. An incident happened at the Annual Town Meeting where a belligerent citizen was police escorted out. Liz Paape contacted Officer Garrett Beaten to apologize for the lack of ordinances to deal with this incident. To Liz’s surprise Officer Beaten gave Liz a spreadsheet of ordinances which were passed by the previous Town Board back in March of 2020!!! Dave Daniels did some research and discovered Minutes of the ordinances passed. • There were no ordinances posted on the computer/server system. No hard copy was turned over to the New at the time, Town Chairman or Town Clerk. How these ordinances were passed is up for discussion, but since a specific amount of time has passed the ordinances are viable. • The ordinance committee will make revisions to the now Current TLS Ordinances which is titled Chapter 3 – Public Safety for the Town Board to review and to rescind those that are recommended to be removed and or changed. Doing so will have a strict protocol to follow. 3. Open discussion among Committee Members: • The Committee discussed how to accept the other Draft Ordinances which overlap what is now the current TLS Ordinances and the ones that do not overlap. 4. Set Next Meeting Date • Next Meeting set for June 17th Tuesday at 6:00pm Town Hall 5. Adjournment • At 7:20pm Ed Galkowski motioned to adjourn, Kory Rentmeester seconded. Motion carried, meeting adjourned.
