PROCEEDINGS – Monday, 09/12/2022 TOWN OF CHASE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING 1. Call to Order and Roll Call Town Board Chairman, Gary Van Lannen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Chase Town Hall, located at 8481 County Road S, Pulaski WI 54162. Notices were posted in the three town display boxes, which are located at the Town Recycling Center, North Chase Citgo, and South Chase Saloon. Board Members present: Chairman - Gary Van Lannen, Supervisor - Dennis Kroll, Supervisor – Jeff Van Enkevort, Clerk – Jeromy Delebreau, Deputy Clerk – Cindy Kroll, Treasurer – Mae Micolichek 2. Recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag The Pledge was recited. 3. Approve the Agenda A. Change in Sequence – None. B. Removal of Items – None. 4. Approve Prior Meeting Minutes 5. Present and Approve Bills for Payment Motion by Van Enkevort/Kroll to approve the agenda, prior meeting minutes and bills for payment. The motion was called and carried 3-0. 6. Committee and Department Reports: a. Financial Report – Treasurer Mae Micolichek Micolichek read the financial report. b. Public Works – Roger Blaies Blaies stated that they have been working on brush cutting and chipping steadily. c. Building Inspector – Bobbie Krozell Van Enkevort stated that 14 permits were issued in August for 1 new home and 1 remodel. There were also 26 emails and 18 calls. d. Park Commission – Jeff VanEnkevort Van Enkevort stated that the craft sale was very successful. The haunted house has begun at the Stone Barn and opening date is Friday, September 30th and run through the majority of October. e. Animal Control – Joe Gracyalny None f. Planning Commission – Dennis Kroll Kroll stated there was no meeting in September. g. Pulaski Fire Department – Gary Van Lannen Van Lannen stated that there was no meeting in September. h. NEW Rescue – Dennis Kroll Kroll stated highlights from their meeting on August 22, 2022. i. Oconto County Economic Development (OCED) – Norb Reinhard Jr. Reinhard stated they was no meeting in September. j. Oconto County Policing Officer – Garret Baeton read the Law Total Incident Report. A total of 53 incidents for the month. Also, scheduled an Active Shooter Training date for the Town of Chase on October 25 th from 5 to 7 pm. 7. Public Comments (No Action Taken) Judge Kevin Rathburn stated he was running for re-election. He has made a $5 reduction in processing fee for the Suamico Courts. 8. Discuss and Act on Dynamic Design Website Tammy was not present from Dynamic Design. Jeromy Delebreau stated that our Town’s website desperately needs updating as well as the Town needs to transition away from our existing email accounts to a more secure one that uses .gov. Motion by Van Enkevort/Kroll to table until next month. The motion was called and carried 3 -0. 9. Discuss and Act on Electronic Equipment for Town Hall Jeromy Delebreau presented to the Town Board additional equipment to present agendas, presentation, and other collaboration items electronically in the Town Hall. In addition to having more options for television for when the Town Hall is rented out. Motion by Van Enkevort/Kroll to table until next month. The motion was called and carried 3-0. 10. Discuss and Act on Two Trees for Town Hall Motion by VanEnkevort/Kroll to approve the purchase of two trees between the amounts of $900 and $1200 per tree, not to exceed $2500. The motion was called and carried 3-0. 11. Discuss and Act on Contract for Oconto Sheriff Department Did not receive an update on the contract. Motion by Kroll/VanEnkevort to table to next month. The motion was called and carried 3-0. 12. Convene into Closed Session pursuant to WIS. Statue 19.85(1)(c)- Considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility – Town Clerk Position Review Roll Call into Closed Session: Dennis – Yes, Jeff – Yes and Gary – Yes Roll Call into Open Session: Dennis – Yes, Jeff – Yes and Gary – Yes Motion by Van Enkevort/Kroll to approve the standard Clerk salary for the standard town clerk position.
