Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting — Minutes

MINUTES PARKS & RECREATION MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2026, 4:30 P.M. PESHTIGO LIBRARY, MUNICIPAL BUILDING Members present: Chair Joel Ahrens, Keith Klimek, and Tony O’Neill. Others Attending: Mayor Katie Berman, Clerk-Treasurer Tammy Kasal, and Parks & Recreation Director Lori Tonn. Chair Ahrens called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m. Motion by Klimek and seconded by O’Neill to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 3/0. Minutes: Motion by O’Neill and seconded by Klimek to approve the December 30, 2025 meeting minutes. Motion carried 3/0. CIP Gator procurement: Parks & Recreation Director Tonn presented quotes from Riesterer & Schnell for a John Deere Gator. The quotes were reviewed and compared. Discussion was held on the accessories included, potential shipping costs, and warranty coverage. Tonn will obtain more information on shipping costs and warranty coverage to present to Council Motion by Klimek and seconded by Ahrens recommending Council approve the purchase of a John Deere Gator from Riesterer & Schnell pending information on shipping costs and warranty coverage. Motion carried 3/0. Badger Park wood harvesting: Discussion was held on issuing Wood Harvesting Permits to individuals for cutting fallen trees around the perimeter of Badger Park to clean up the visible areas along the road. Motion by O’Neill and seconded by Ahrens authorizing the Parks & Recreation Director to advertise for up to five applicants to harvest fallen trees around the perimeter of Badger Park during a time period designated by the Parks & Recreation Director. Motion carried 3/0. Parks & Recreation Director update by Director Lori Tonn: • The WPS grant for a weed harvester has been submitted. • Weed harvester grants through the NRDA and WI DNR are being compiled while also exploring business donations. • Event and program promoting continues. • Campground reservation payment portion of the portal is currently not working. • Work will be done to clarify the Badger Park address is correct on on-line media.
