McCoy Public Library Board of Trustees — Minutes

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN OF A MEETING OF THE MCCOY PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON May 11th, 2026 5:15 P.M. IN THE McCOY PUBLIC LIBRARY WITHIN THE McCOY PUBLIC LIBRARY. THE MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Meeting Minutes 1. Call to order: Marsha Einsweiler, Suzy Turpin, Kim Langenfeld, Nichole Hocking, Kari Einsweiler, Emmett Reilly, Cassie Cernek Not Present: Danny Morrissey a. Also in attendance: Jen Detra, Library Director 2. Public Comment: None 3. Appointments: Emmett is the new city representative, replacing Danny Morrissey. 4. Secretary’s Report: Motion by Marsha to approve the April 8th meeting minutes. 2nd by Suzy. Motion passed. 5. Review & Sign Invoices: Reviewed and signed invoices. 6. Financial Statements: Reviewed. No questions or concerns. 7. Policies: a. Behavior Policy: The library staff went through the policy and did not propose any changes. Board reviewed and agreed to keep the policy as is. Motion by Kari to approve the behavior policy for the next 3 years. 2nd by Suzy. Motion passed. b. Review Schedule: Jen will lump policies together as necessary for review. 8. Director Report: Board reviewed the new website. The website is accessible and cost efficient. If anyone finds any errors, please let Jen know. The library has been busy with kids. There was a staff meeting held today. Reading trackers are ready to go, as well as summer craft items. Gratiot library is potentially seeking a new building. Jen is researching grants. Dementia program will be tomorrow, 5/12/2026 from 5:30-7:00. 9. Next Meeting Date: Wednesday, June 17th, 2026. 5:15 pm at the Shullsburg McCoy Public Library. 10. Adjournment: Motion by Kari to adjourn. 2nd by Suzy. Motion passed. Adjournment at 5:42 pm. All agenda items have the ability to become actionable items.
