New Museum Interior Design – The Council met with Pat McCullough from McCullough
Creative to discuss the museum design process and a potential proposal for interior design services.
McCullough provided a proposal and visual materials showing work they have done. Their cost estimates
vary depending on the scope of work, but could cost between $30,000-$60,000 for design consulting
services. Wedige commented that from an outsider’s perspective one might assume the museum is only
about mining. The Council questioned what stories should be told about mining and about Shullsburg’s
history. The group discussed ways to solicit information regarding what museum exhibits should be
included, as well as how long the process will take and the costs associated with it. McCullough
recommended getting input from the community. The Council discussed how to move forward and agreed
to get community input as well as possibly put together a committee to steer the project. No action taken.
At 4:17 p.m. a motion was made by Wedige second by Morrissey to adjourn. All aye, motion
carried.
Janelle Schumacher, Clerk/Treasurer
