Johnson Public Library Board of Directors Meeting, August 2026 Meeting Held: August 31, 2026 1. Call to Order: By President, Matt Walter, at 6:32PM 2. Roll Call: Janet Trout, Matt Walter, Sandra Corona, John Knellwolf, Sonja Wiegel, Cindy Corley, and Ashley McCarville. Absent: Carly Winslow 3. Motion that meeting and agenda were properly posted a. 1st Knellwolf, 2nd Wiegel. Motion Carried. 4. Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting a. 1stCorley, 2nd Knellwolf. Motion Carried. 5. Reports, comments, and suggestions a. None Present 6. Unfinished Business a. Discussion concerning Dollar General Literacy Grant i. Used for summer reading program and prizes ii. Very successful and well received b. Discussion concerning Strategic Plan i. Looking for things to focus on ii. Board Members to review this and bring recommendations iii. Discuss ideas at the next meeting c. Report on past Library Events i. See Handout d. Director’s Report i. See Handout 7. New Business a. Discussion and action concerning Labor Day closures i. Will continue to be open Saturday, September 5th, but closed, Monday September 7th b. Discussion concerning upcoming budget proposals i. Mayor approved 3% living wage increase ii. Budget is staying the same iii. Janet will have a budget breakdown at the next meeting for approval before going to the city counsel c. Discussion concerning new technology in the library i. Received a donation of a 3D printer ii. Yoto player 1. Thinking about purchasing more through the caragie funds d. Approval of Payment Vouchers #4897-#4911 i. 1stKnellwolf, 2nd Wiegel.
