FINANCE AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES JUNE 2, 2026 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dave Roelli at 6:30 PM. Present at roll call were: Steve Pickett, Mayor Roelli, Kerry Black , and John Sonsalla . Absent: None. Also present were: Joe Boll, Cindy Corley, Kevin Andrews, Jeff McCarthy, Attorney Jacob Gardner, and Amy Johnson. Motion by Sonsalla, seconded by Pickett, that the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted. Motion carried. Motion by Pickett, seconded by Black, to approve the minutes of previous meetings. Motion carried. Under new business, discussion was held concerning the Time Off and Leave of Absence Policy for the City of Darlington. The change is recommended to reflect the 80 hours of vacation that has been offered to all the new hires for the past two years, and it creates two new tiers for vacation time earned. After discussion and consideration, motion by Black, seconded by Sonsalla, to approve the changes to the Time Off and Leave of Absence Policy as presented and recommend approval of the same to the Council. Ayes: Black and Sonsalla. Nay: Pickett. Motion carried. Motion by Pickett , seconded by Sonsalla , to go into closed session in accordance with Section 19.85(1) (c) Wis. Stats., to interview a candidate for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Position. Roll Call V ote: All Ayes. Motion carried. Motion by Pickett, seconded by Sonsalla, to reconvene to regular session in accordance with Section 19.85 (2) Wis. Stats., to recommend the hiring of a Wastewater Treatment Plant employee, if appropriate, to the City Council for approval. Roll Call V ote: All Ayes. Motion carried. After discussion and consideration, motion by Pickett , seconded by Black, to recommend to the Council the hiring of Casey Horne for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Position, with a starting wage of $24.00 an hour.
