Village of Benton Board of Review Agenda Thursday, May 22nd, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. 244 Ridge Avenue, Benton, WI 53803 1. Call Board of Review to Order 2. Roll Call - All Members & Assessor 3. Proof of public notice (Posted on The Village Website www.bentonwi.us, at the Village Office, Zephyr Depot, The Benton State Bank, and the Benton Post Office on 4/30/2025) 4. Nominate a Chairperson for 2025 Board of Review 5. Nominate a Vice-Chairperson for 2025 Board of Review 6. Verify that member of the Board or Review has met the mandatory training requirements specified in SEC 70.46(4), Wis Stats. (Clerk Sonya Silvers completed Board of Review training on 04/15/2025 and e-filed the affidavit with the Wi Dept. of Revenue of 04/15/2025) 7. Verify the Village has an ordinance for the confidentiality of income and expense information provided to the Assessor under state law (Wis. Stat. §70.47(7) (af)). (Chapter 84. Public Records, §84-10 Confidentiality of income and expenses provided to Assessor) 8. Receive the assessment roll & assessor’s affidavit signed by Assessor Bruce Gardiner and Village Clerk/Treasurer Sonya Silvers 9. Receive the assessment roll and perform statutory duties: A. Examine the roll, B. Correct description or calculation errors, C. Add omitted property, and D. Eliminate double assessed property 10. Action Items A. Consideration of waivers of the required 48-hour notice of intent to file an objection where there is good cause. B. Review Notices of Intent to File Objection C. Proceed to hear objections, if any and if proper notice/waivers given unless scheduled for another date D. Scheduling of additional Board of Review Date(s) 11. Assessor’s updates 12.
