Village of Benton September 29, 2023 Special Board Meeting Minutes Members present: Scott Cruse, John Perkins, Jill Knight, Chuck Wartner, Joe Slater, and Ken Farrey attended via Phone. Absent members: Cal Robins Village employees present: Sonya Silvers Others Present: The Special board meeting of the Benton Village Board was called to order by Village President Scott Cruse at 10:00 a.m. in the conference room of the Benton Business Incubator Building at 244 Ridge Avenue on Friday, September 29, 2023. In compliance with the open meeting law, proper notice of the meeting had been posted in four public places; the Zephyr Depot, Benton State Bank, Benton Post Office, and the Benton Business Incubator Building. Discussion regarding the Lafayette County EMS resolution was held. Scott presented information received from The Village of Blanchardville. The money that was paid to the Lafayette County EMS in 2023 will not be paid back. Municipalities that do not participate and sign the resolution would need to get their own attorneys for the matter. Signing the resolution will allow the Village to get back $5.00 per resident in 2024. Motion (Knight, Wartner) to approve the resolution for the Lafayette County EMS. Roll-all ayes. Carried Discussion and possible approval of Class “B” Beer and “Class B” liquor license for Whitey’s Bar & Grill, LLC. Motion (Perkins, Slater) to approve the Class “B” Beer and “Class B” liquor license for Whitey’s Bar & Grill, LLC. Roll-all ayes. Carried Meeting adjourned at 10:06 a.m. Motion (Wartner.
