SUPERIOR PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD LIBRARY BOARD DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 13, 2026 A meeting of the Library Board Personnel Committee was held on Tuesday, May 13, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Classroom of the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave., Superior WI. Present: Heather Rickerl, Chair; Ron Leino, Sue Hendrickson, Acacia Nikoi, Heather Rickerl, Emily Groves; Addyson Gallagher, student board member; Sue Heskin, Library Director. 1. Call to Order by Heather Rickerl at 5:33 pm 2. Approval of minutes – Motion to approve the minutes from 6.4.2025 made by Ron Leino; seconded by Acacia Nikoi; Motion approved unanimously. 3. Board Positions and Vacancies: a. The second county position for the Board is no longer available because the county funding went below 30%. b. Request has been made to the city council to appoint Julie Tersteeg as a 3-year city at large member c. Request has been made to the city council to re-appoint Mary Johnson-Garay for a second term 4. Motion to approve a proposed slate of officers for the 2026-27 year to be Sue Henderickson, President; Ellen Kreidler, Vice-President; Mary Johnson-Garay, Secretary, contingent on their availability, made by Acacia Nikoi; seconded by Sue Hendrickson. Motion approved unanimously. 5. Training and Advocacy opportunities: The Wisconsin Trustee Training Week will take place August 10 – 13, 2026.
