HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE – 2/25/2026 Monthly Meeting (Regular meeting monthly on 4th Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.) Page 1 of 1 HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE Minutes February 25, 2026 Monthly Meeting The meeting was called to order by Chair Tim Meyer at 5:35 p.m. on February 25, 2026 in Government Center Room 270. 1 ROLL CALL PRESENT: Matt Osterlund, Kathleen Laakso, Garner Moffat, Tim Meyer VIRTUAL: ABSENT: Tom Wondolkowski CITY STAFF and OFFICIALS PRESENT: Jeff Skrenes, Jess McCullough OTHERS PRESENT: 2 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2.1 MOTION to approve meeting minutes from September 24, 2025 with corrected spelling of member Kathleen Laakso’s name made by member Matt Osterlund, seconded by member Kathleen Laakso, carried unanimously. 3 OLD BUSINESS 4 NEW BUSINESS 4.1 Election of Chair for 2026 MOTION to elect Tim Meyer as Chair of the Historic Preservation Committee for 2026, made by member Kathleen Laakso, seconded by member Matt Osterlund, amendment to motion for the Chair term to last until any new members of the HPC are appointed and seated. A new Chair may be chosen for the remainder of the year if there are new HPC members, made by member Garner Moffat, seconded by member Matt Osterlund, both amendment and motion carried unanimously. 4.2 Jess McCullough presented a grant application to the Johanna Favrot fund for SS Meteor repairs, and asked the HPC for support. MOTION for the Historic Preservation Committee to support Johanna Favrot Fund application for the purpose of repairing damage to the SS Meteor, made by member Kathleen Laakso, seconded by member Matt Ostelrund, carried unanimously. 4.3 Code change discussion on hardship variance tabled due to lack of input from City Attorney. 5 RECURRING BUSINESS 6.
