1 CITY OF AMERY BOARD OF REVIEW PROCEEDINGS May 20 th , 202 6 The Board of Review of the City of Amery met on May 20 th , 202 6 at City Hal l in the C ity Council Chambers . City Clerk-Treasurer, Taylor Larson called the meeting to order at 10 :0 0 a .m. Present: Clerk/Treasurer, Taylor Larson ; Alderpersons, Fran Duncanson and Sharon Marks ; and Mayor, Rick Van Blaricom . Absent: None. Others Present: Assessor, Alyssa Schultz – Bowmar Appraisal, Inc. City Clerk-Treasurer, Larson conducted Roll Call. City Clerk-Treasurer, Larson shared the appropriate Board of Review and Open Meeting Notices with the board. Motion by Marks , seconded by Van Blaricom to appoint Fran Duncanson as the Chair. Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion Carried Motion by Duncanson seconded by Van Blaricom to nominate Sharon Marks as the Vice-Chair. Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion Carried City Clerk-Treasurer , Larson verified that she and Sharon Marks had participated in Board of Review Training in 202 6 and the form had been submitted to the DOR . All training is good for 1 year. City Clerk-Treasurer, Larson verified that the City of Amery did have an ordinance (Ch. 125-6(E) ) for the confidentiality of income and expense information provided to the assessor under state law (sec. 70.47(7)(af). Assessor Schultz noted there were no new BOR laws for 202 6. Adoption of policy regarding the procedure for sworn telephone testimony and sworn written testimony . The policy is the one recommended by the Local Government Center through the University of Wisconsin Extension Office. Motion by Van Blaricom seconded by Marks to approve the Policy on Procedure for Sworn Telephone or Sworn Written Testimony requests. Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion Carried Adoption of policy regarding the procedure for sworn telephone testimony and sworn written testimony. The policy is the one recommended by the Local Government Center through the University of Wisconsin Extension Office. Motion by Marks seconded by Van Blaricom to approve the Policy on Procedure for Waiver of Board of Review Hearing Requests. Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion Carried 2 Assessor, Alyssa Schultz – Bowmar Appraisal, Inc. stated that s he filed the summary of annual Assessment Report by the Assessor ’s Office and reviewed the report. She also noted that 201-01040-0011 that was omitted from the roll in 2025 was included on the omitted property roll sheet for 2026 City Clerk-Treasurer, Taylor Larson noted that s he had received the Assessment Roll from Assessor, Alyssa Schultz – Bowmar Appraisal, Inc. ’s Office. City Clerk-Treasurer, Taylor Larson received no sworn statements. Assessor, Schultz noted that some adjustment s w ere made after open book, and that adjustment s are already reflected in the Assessment Roll. No property owners came before the Board of Review on May 20 , 202 6 . Motion by Van Bl aricom ; seconded by Marks to adjourn at 12:0 2 P.M.
