Old Business:
October 9th Derby Update: Not as many people even with great weather. Maybe due to late advertising. Profit still made.
Stage: Lisa looked into pricing for renting a stage as we pny use it once a year. We could rent a 8’x24’ for $640, a 16’x24 for $1020. Delivered, set up and take down. It is something to consider as we get estimates for repairs to the existing stage.
Elf Escape: Dec. 1st-17th. Three $25 cash prizes. Overby’s sent out letters.
Santa Day Update: Sat. Dec 11th from 2p-6p at the ambulance garage. Smores bags will be handed out to take home sponsored by Saphire Realty, Hot chocolate sponsored by Lucky’s. Along with the hayride, Santa pictures and Santa visit, we are adding a Chili Cook-off to be held at Lucky’s. Stephanie will head this event. There will be minimal cost to the Club. We will ask those attending to bring in a toy to benefit for Christmas for Children.
At 7pm Miss Clear Lake and her court will parade around the main streets giving away candy canes and pop and asking for donations for the Food Shelf.
Light up the Village: Judging from Dec. 13th-17th. Sign up by Dec. 10th. Winner announced on Dec. 18th. Prizes are $75, $50 & $25 for residential winners and bragging rights and a traveling trophy for the business winner. We will give the judge a $25 gift card.
Fireworks: Contact is sent back.
New Business:
Sponsorship Letters are almost done. Goal is to send them out close to the beginning of the new year. We will ask for two ambassadors from each business and ask if they want to help with certain events. We talked of a Welcome Committee for new Businesses. We’ve had some feedback from a few new people/businesses. We invite them and their ideas to our meetings. There was some talk of a bigger event around Halloween as the Community Education’s Trunk or Treat was a success.
We approved a $50 gift card to Matt Anderson as a thank you for storing our float.
There will be a separate meeting with Miss Clear Lake, her court and parents to discuss some ongoing issues.
Cindy made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ray. Next meeting will be December 6th at 7p at SCI.
