February 2021 Minutes

Clear Lake Civic and Commerce aka Clear Lake Community Club Meeting Date Feb 1, 2021 Members Present: Amy Strobach, Tanya Jo Roth, Stephanie Binstock, Cindy Soderberg, Ture Duden, Rodney Fall, Zoey Duden, Dave Jurisch via Zoom. The meeting was called to order by Stephanie. Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the January meeting were reviewed. Amy made a motion to accept the Secretary’s Report seconded by Tonya. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report: The report was reviewed. Tonya made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Cindy. Motion carried. Business Council Report: Amy attended the January Business Council meeting and shared with the Club the goals and plans of the Council. We need to look into the type of group the Business Council represents and if they fall under a subcommittee of the Community Club or if their entity should/could be their own non profit. Old Business: Derby updates were shared by Ture. Non Profit food vendors we usually have for Clear Lake Days will be invited to sell at the derby. Derby date May 15, 2021. Sponsorship letters are in progress and the goal is to have them out by March 1st. Budget were reviewed with a few changes. A motion was made by Tonya to accept the budget for the 2021 events, seconded by Rodney. Motion carried. New Business: Nominations were opened for election of officers. Stephanie-President, Tonya-Vice President, Amy-Treasurer, Cindy-Secretary. Nominations were closed. A motion was made by Cindy to accept the ballot as is, seconded by Tonya. Motion carried. By-Laws: Everyone received a copy of the proposed By-Laws. Everyone will review them and bring back suggestions of changes to the March meeting. A copy will be emailed to Dave Jursich as well as meeting minutes and treasurer reports.  Other: The Clear Lake Days event is being planned as normal. We will keep updated on the pandemic and safety precautions. Clear Lake Days set for June 24-27, 2021. Some discussion on details and what evet to replace the derby with for Clear Lake Days. Band vs Dj for Friday night. Need to decide. More detailed discussion at the next meeting. Shelli Swanson has volunteered to be the chair of the Farmer’s Market this year. Planning for day and location is in the works.Cindy made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ture. Next meeting will be March 1, 2021 at 7p at SCI.
