Clear Lake Community Club Meeting Date January 4, 2021 Members Present: Amy Strobach, Tanya Jo Roth, Stephanie Binstock, Cindy Soderberg, Lisa & Ture Duden The meeting was called to order by Stephanie. Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the December meeting were reviewed. Lisa made a motion to accept the Secretary’s Report seconded by Amy. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report: The report was reviewed. Cindy made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Lisa. Motion carried. Business Council Report: No December meeting. January meeting scheduled for the 28th at 7:30 am. Amy & Cindy plan to attend. Old Business: Elf Escape Event: 34 sheets were turned in for the drawing. The general consensus was to make it an annual family event. Santa Day update: The event appeared to have good attendance. Decorating the gazebo every year would be continued for the season. Light Up the Village: 15 residence and 4 businesses signed up. Looking at placing posters around to get the word out next year for the contest. Many houses were decorated but had not entered contest. Fireworks: Many in attendance. Miss Clear Lake and her court helped by standing by lighted signs with donation containers. Over $950 was raised. Same price quoted for 2021 from Speilbaurer Fireworks Miss Clear Lake and her court did a night parade around town with Santa. Took in food donations for the Food Shelf and handed out candy canes. New Business: Budgets for 2021 events need to be brought to the February meeting for discussion ad finalization. Farmer’s Market, Kick off to Summer and Garage Sale were discussed. It was agreed that the Garage Sale would go back to the Friday of Clear Lake Days. Amy has volunteered to be the Chairperson of Clear Lake Days, with Stephanie as Co-Chair. After some discussion, it was decided to move the derby to a date other than Clear Lake Days and open up Saturday afternoon for another event or events. Lisa and Ture Duden, Derby Chairperson, shared their plans and ideas for a May 15, 2021 derby date and asked for a $12,000 budget for payout. A motion was made by Cindy, seconded by Amy to move the derby date and approve the budget ask. Motion carried.   Other: Election of officers will take place at the February meeting. Ture made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Cindy. Next meeting will be February 1, 2021 at 7p at SCI.
