Clear Lake Community Club Meeting Minutes
January 9th, 2017
Meeting called to order at 7:04pm with 13 members present. Minutes were read and Treasurers report read. Balance of $17,797.93
Recap Santa Day:
250+ photos were taken. Kristin ordered some economical but fancy photo sleeves and they looked great. Since the weather was windy and very cold Art Bergmann did not stay and give sleigh rides for safety of horses we decided to send him $100-150 for coming in. No one contacted Community Ed for tattoos (many were not aware they were the ones who did this) People need to communicate this and attend meetings. Many vendors did not come due to weather 1 showed up. We will try this again next year to see how it works out. Discussion held on combining Santa Day with Holiday Stroll. Decided to table for next fall and vote on it then.
Thank you to Curly Danielson AKA Santa for his many decades of Ho Ho Hoing around Clear Lake. He has officially retired this year.
Recap Fireworks:
Fireworks were once again AWESOME thank you to Pyro Celebrations. Next year is the 10th Anniversary can’t wait to see what we’ll have then! Concessions made $683.00 and donations from business was $1,280.00. Food Pantry donations was 62 pounds. Need to send donation letters out earlier next year. Need more signage so people know where to park and go for concessions. Need to set up a concession at double pines, so families do not have to walk their kids all the way to Chalet building. Royalty selling at other end; car to car did not work out, some girls were willing others not. Next year we try again. Depending on weather we could also add family fun games. Discuss next fall. Need a way to keep count of attendance somehow.
New Business:
Cindy Hatella asked to speak to the club. She presented to us an ‘Earth Day Event’ involving all groups in town since after all we are the home town for Gaylord Nelson. Handed forms out and is asking members to contact her with any ideas to grow this idea.
Clear Lake Days discussed. Kristin will have financials next meeting. Dudens are running Derby and are asking for larger monetary prizes for promoting the Derby. Discussion held and will wait until next meeting to decide. Buying new bleachers verses renting again from St. Croix County Fairgrounds. Need to call and see if can rent them for those dates and and get 6 total. Discussion on what to do during inactive time when parade ends (12:00) to Derby start (2:00) then when Derby ends until bands starts back in town.
Election:
President Stacy Otis stepped down and group will need to elect a new President. Nominated was Tonya Jo Roth and Alison Blanchard, paper ballot taken with results: Tonya Jo Roth -3 and Alison Blanchard -8.
Wendy Schoggins with Alison Blanchard presented the new professional website they are working on in power point. They need more content and help with finding more information.
Meeting was adjourned with assignment of bringing 1 new person with you to next meeting, add people to Facebook and share info on Facebook.
Next meeting will be February 6th at 7:00 pm in CL Community Center.
