Price County Administration Committee Minutes Date: April 14, 2026 Time: 9:00 a.m. Place: Courthouse County Board Room 101; 126 Cherry St; Phillips, WI 54555 Call to Order: Meeting called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Dennis Wartgow, Committee Chair. Roll Call Members Present: Alan Barkstrom, Jeff Hallstrand, Paula Houdek, Jordan Spacek, Dennis Wartgow Also Present: Brian Ernst, County Chair; Jennifer Miller, Human Resources Manager; Nick Trimner, County Administrator Items For Discussion and Possible Action 1. Public Comment and Communications: None 2. Meeting Minutes from February 3, 2026 Motion Houdek/Hallstrand to approve the Motion carried. 3. Employee Status Updates New Hires, Promotions, & Reassignments • Tami Rueth – Part-time Correction Officer/Dispatcher (start 3/20/2026) • Brandon Boggs – Part-time Deputy Sheriff (start to be determined) Terminations, Resignations, & Retirements • Drew Hauschild – Highway Operator (last day 3/26/2026) • Brenda Baldwin – ADRC Specialist (last day 4/17/2026) Recruitments • Highway Operator • ADRC Specialist • Deputy Sheriff • Summer Hires-filled in the Highway and Forestry Departments • LTE Highway Mechanic/Fabricator • Part-time Deputy Sheriff – Ongoing • Part-time Correction Officer/Dispatcher – Ongoing • Substitute Nutrition Site Managers – Ongoing 4. Resolution – New Position Behavioral Health Social Worker CLTS (Administration) The caseload for Children’s Long Term Support (CLTS) has steadily increased of the past couple years, and is currently at about 71 cases. The recommended number of clients/cases per caseworker is 25-30. Motion Barkstrom/Hallstrand to approve the r esolution New Position Behavioral Health Social Worker CLTS (Administration) and send it to the Price C ounty Board of Supervisors for consideration. Motion carried. 5. Discussion Ensuring Comprehensive Accountability of the Price County Administrator : Discussion on entertaining a proposal to change the way the board operates in reviewing the County Administrator position. 6. Employee Handbook: Discussion on revising the Employee Handbook to summarize the current policies into a more reader -friendly format. Proposal to add two additional polic ies addressing inclimate weather and employee use of personal recording devices. 7. Discuss a Procedure for Setting Future Elected Wages: Discussion on creating a procedure for setting future elected wages. Timing of setting the wages should be prior to the dates set for declaring candidacy. Comparables from 72 County Sheriff wages throughout the State were beneficial to the process. The process will be reviewed and presented to the committee for consideration for the employee handbook. 8. Next Meeting Date: May 12, 2026 9.
