Town of Stockton Annual Meeting of the Electors
Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 @ 6:30 PM
Town Hall, 7252 6th St, Custer, WI 54423
1. Call to Order by Chairman Mike Bronk at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The list
of attendees is attached and included 10 members of the public which included Chairman Mike
Bronk, Supervisor Terry Johnson, Treasurer Sandy Walters, and Clerk Jennifer Zurawski. Also in
attendance was Fire Chief Jeremy Spencer and Assistant Chief of EMS Dennis Lepak who are not
residents of the Town of Stockton.
2. Method of Voting as Stated by Chairman Mike Bronk unless Electors Desire Another Method –
Motion (Terry Johnson/Cindy Davis) to continue to use “by majority show of hands” as the
method of voting. Motion carried 9-0.
3. Motion (Terry Johnson/Mike Bronk) to approve minutes for the Town of Stockton Annual
Meeting of the Electors of April 18th, 2023. Motion carried 8-0.
4. 2023 Annual Financial Report - Chairman Mike Bronk took a moment to thank the Town of
Stockton Board, Fire/EMS department, road crew, and participating members of the community.
Chairman Bronk reported on the 2023 Town of Stockton Financial Summary. Motion (Cindy
Davis/Jim Dodge) to approve the financial report as submitted. Motion carried 6-0.
5. Fire Department/EMS Report – Fire Chief Jeremy Spencer thanked Dennis Lepak and Brian
Higgins for all their help in the department. Spencer stated he could not do this job without
them. Fire Chief Spencer stated that in 2024, the department responded to 60 fire calls. Fire
Chief Spencer reported some highlights of the year, the department received 12,000 in
Donations. Spencer and the Department were very thankful for the community support and
plans to do more community events as well as using some of the donations for replacing
equipment needed in the fire house. Spencer also stated that the fire department added 3 new
members, for a total of 26 active members. Spencer stated the EMS department added 10 new
members to EMS for a total of 13 active EMS members (9 are crossed trained between Fire/EMS
and 4 are EMS members). Public Education for the Town of Stockton included hosting a
successful open house, first annual Easter Egg Hunt, and annual awards banquet. Goals for
2024 are to increase community involvement as well as host a swearing in oath ceremony and
continue the annual awards banquet for the department. Spencer feels these events are
important for the department to feel appreciated and supported! Spencer states other goals
are to continue to write for grants that apply to our departments.
6. Road Work for 2023 – Chairman Bronk highlighted the regular road work that is completed each
year – plowing, road sweeping, crack filling, and chip sealing. Chairman Bronk stated that the
road crew has been making updates to the culverts and doing repairs. Chairman Bronk stated
that they have been doing a lot of brushing with the Tiger Mower and shoulder repair along the
roads.
7. Any Items Brought Up by Town Residents – Resident Jim Dodge stated that he would like to start
collecting quotes to put up a basketball court at the park. Jim Dodge would also like to work
with the board to get new edgings surrounding the playground area to hold the rocks in place.
Cindy Davis stated they would begin working with the County to redo the Plan Commission
Comprehensive Plan.
8. Motion (Cindy Davis/Terry Johnson) for the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Electors to be held the
third Tuesday of April @ 6:30pm. Motion carried 7-0.
9. Motion to adjourn (Terry Johnson/Sandy Walters) at 7:05pm. Motion carried 8-0.
