PLAN COMMISSION – April 18, 2024 6:00 P.M. Chairman Travis Keading called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present were members Jason TePaske, Patricia Wessel, Robert Chaffee, and Sondra Larson. Also present: Cynthia Anderegg. Absent: Scott Williamson and Mike Canaday 1. Notice pursuant to section 62.23(7)(d), Wisconsin Statutes and Chapter 9 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Augusta, WI. Public hearing on conditional use application for Josey Lammers, requesting a permit to use the following described residential property for a home craft occupation and sales: Address of property: 406 N Stone St Legal description: Parcel ID #: 202-1047-09-000 NW-NW,Sect. 4, T25N,R6W LOTS 9 & 10 BLK 26 EX W 10’ OF SD LOT 9 MAP OF AUGUSTA – ORIGINAL PLAT CITY OF AUGUSTA Ms. Josey Lammers described the proposed home occupation to the Plan Commission and the types of crafts she makes and currently sells at craft fairs. Ms. Lammers repurposes items she finds at thrift stores and incorporates natural materials into her crafts. She uses urethane and resin to create molds for figurines, jewelry, and containers. Her daughter and grandson also make crafts such as crocheted items and accessories for cosplay. Ms. Lammers brought several items she displayed for the Commission members to see. She intends to have a small display area in her entryway for customers to shop, and to have craft fair customers pick up orders. Her plan is to make the molds and figurines during weekdays and have the shopping area open to customers from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, closed on Sundays. Mondy through Wednesdays will be work/creation days. She plans to pave the driveway and mark with posts to indicate parking areas. She also plans to limit cars to two (2) at a time. Jewelry repair customers will be by appointment only. Motion by Larson seconded by Chaffee to grant a conditional use permit to Josey Lammers dba Josey Creations for a home occupation to create and sell crafts in her home at 406 N. Stone St. contingent upon receipt of proof of adequate home business insurance and proof of a Wisconsin seller’s permit. Proof of business insurance and Wisconsin seller’s permit must be received by the City Clerk’s office before the permit will be issued. As a condition of the permit, she must display temporary parking signage during business hours directing customers to park on the street and not to block the alleyway. Roll call vote: TePaske, yes; Wessel, yes; Chaffee, yes; Keading, yes; Larson, abstain; Scott Williamson, absent; Canaday, absent. Motion carried.
