TOWN OF STAR PRAIRIE BOARD MEETING - MINUTES TUESDAY, JANUARY 6, 2026 – 6:00 P.M. STAR PRAIRIE TOWN HALL 2118 COOK DRIVE, SOMERSET, WISCONSIN The Town Board Meeting was called to order by Tom Heintz at 6:08 p.m. in the Star Prairie Town Hall: 2118 Cook Drive, Somerset, WI 54025. Present: Tom Heintz, Michele Hermansen, Darryl Wendt, Brian Duggan, Bob Crotty and Town Clerk/Treasurer Andrea Neumann. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Agenda : Motion M/S by Darryl Wendt/Brian Duggan to approve the agenda, as submitted. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes : Motion M/S by Michele Hermansen/Bob Crotty to approve the minutes from the December 2nd Town Board Meeting and the December 15th Work Session, as submitted. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report : Reviewed; no action taken. Building Permits : The December 2025 building permits were read, as reported, by the Building Inspector. Motion M/S by Darryl Wendt/Michele Hermansen to accept the report, as submitted. Motion carried. Public Comments : None. Resolution - Affidavit and Restrictive Covenant for Accessory Structures : Motion M/S by Michele Hermansen/Darryl Wendt to adopt Resolution 2026-01: A Resolution Requiring the Recording of an Affidavit and Restrictive Covenant for Accessory Structures. In a roll call vote: Crotty - Yes Duggan - Yes Hermansen - Yes Wendt - Yes Heintz - Yes The motion carried. Tax Correction and Recovery per Wis. Stat. § 74.35 : Clerk contacted by Assessor and resident regarding a conservation reserve program enrollment not reflected in the tax roll. The resident submitted a claim for unlawful tax to recover the excess taxes paid. Motion M/S by Michele Hermansen/Bob Crotty to allow the claim submitted by Doug Conley for the recovery of unlawful tax in the amount of $1336.88 under Wis. Stat. § 74.35 once the Clerk confirms all legal requirements have been met. Motion carried. Plan Commission Next Meeting : The January meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. Town Maintenance Building & Town Hall Updates : No discussion. Schedule Monthly Work Session : No Work Session scheduled for January, but concerns regarding scheduling conflicts for February meeting. Motion M/S by Bob Crotty/Brian Duggan to reschedule the February Town Board Meeting from Tuesday, February 3 to Wednesday, February 4. Motion carried. Town Road Maintenance - Road Patching, Repairs, Mowing and Other Issues : County is continuing to clean up roads. Approve Payment of Town Bills and Adjourn: Motion M/S by Brian Duggan/Darryl Wendt to approve the town bills and adjourn.
