CITY OF GILLETT PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE Council Chambers – Municipal Building 150 N McKenzie Ave – Gillett, WI 54124 MONDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2018 FOLLOWING JOINT MEETING MINUTES Meeting Called to Order by Chairperson Stroik at 5:35 PM Roll Call Present: Alderpersons Matthew Stroik, Nanette Mohr, and Irene Drake. Also Present: Mayor James Beaton, Deputy Clerk Treasurer Chelsea Henkel, Alderperson Marie Blaser, Josh McCarthy, Sandra Hubbard, and Public Works Foreman Shane Rank. PUBLIC INPUT: None AGENDA ITEMS: 1. Discussion and Possible Action on approval of minutes from July 30, 2018 MOTION: Drake/Mohr Motion to approve the minutes from July 30, 2018. Voice Vote: All voting aye. – MOTION CARRIED 2. Discussion and possible action on $3,000.00 dollars for buying street signs- new speed limit signs, parking signs, and ATV signs need to be purchased. MOTION: Drake/Mohr Motion to approve purchasing new street signs out of the street sign budgeted line item for $3,000.00. Roll Call Vote: All voting aye. – MOTION CARRIED 3. Discussion and possible action on GAD garbage bags to garbage carts- City has many garbage stickers left over that were purchased in 2017. It would be an added expense to add garbage carts onto our contract with Great American Disposal. We will get more information from GAD and discuss for 2020. 4. Discussion and possible action on hanging flower baskets on Main Street- Discussion was had on painting the light poles on Main Street and hanging brackets for flower baskets on them. An idea was to have the businesses nearest the pole adopt a basket to hang. The city would have to buy equipment to water the flowers. Water pump and tank would need to be purchased. Committee will get quotes for painting and equipment. 5. Set Next Meeting Date- January 2, 2019 at 5:00 PM. 6. Adjournment at 6:15 PM. MOTION: Drake/Mohr Motion to adjourn.
