CITY OF GILLETT TOURISM AND MARKETING Council Chambers – Municipal Building 150 N McKenzie Ave – Gillett, WI 54124 THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 2026 AT 5:15 PM MINUTES Chairperson Luther called the meeting to order at 5:15 pm. Roll Call Open Meeting Law has been complied with Present: Alderpersons Jerry Luther and Nanette Mohr. Public Members Chris Byars. Alderpersons Matt Young and Keri Hicks, and Clerk Treasurer Chelsea Anderson. Public Input: None 1. Discussion and Possible action on minutes from February 24, 2026 MOTION: Byars/Mohr Motion to approve the minutes from January 8, 2026. Voice Vote: All Voting Aye – MOTION CARRIED 2. Discussion and Possible action on billboard on County Road R- Leave Lay 3. Discussion and Possible action on post construction ceremony – Would like to purchase banners that say Welcome to Gillett and have other businesses sponsor each sign and get their name on it. October 12, 2026 4:30-6:30p is a date that could work for a ceremony, need to run by other members. Should we combine the opening of the playground? This would be highway opening ceremony but adding it would give citizens more reason to come. Could meet at Main Street and HWY 22 intersection, walk across, do a ribbon cutting. Would have activities, music, look into food and vendors. Decorate in fall decorations. Could also meet at E Park Street so we are by the new playground and new road. In early stages of planning. 4.
